The key to an efficient operation is uptime and maintenance. We all know the importance of making sure we maintain our tractors and change the oil. How often do we think about tuning up the machine responsible for planting our crops? Think about this a minute. Our entire year is based off the quality of job the planter does putting seed in the ground accurately to maximize our yields. Have you taken time to inspect the opener disc to make sure they aren’t worn past the point of providing a flat bottom seed trench? Have we looked at the vacuum seal on the seed meters to make sure we aren’t losing vacuum affecting singulation or skips?
