SunSouth Exciting Updates In October!
Exciting things are coming for several of our locations over the next few months! We strive to provide the best customer experience for our customers because we want you to feel like family. In order for us to execute this to its fullest potential, some of our stores need a face lift- and we’re working on it. Let’s start with our smaller project of the three. Our Dothan store is adding 3600 sq. ft. onto their service department. This new addition will add more storage room for our ever-growing parts and service department. It will also give us the ability to handle larger ag equipment (cotton pickers, spreaders, etc.) and add more certified technicians. We hope to be able to open this new addition by the end of November.

Next up is our Meridian store. Meridian will have a complete facelift but in the same building. Our original building was 6,000 sq. ft. but once complete, we will total in 16,000 sq. ft. When we asked Store Manager Bill Nichols what he was most excited about, he was happy to share: “We will have total overhead crane coverage in the shop which will increase productivity and safety. Before, the salesmen were sitting out in the middle of the showroom and the parts and service managers were in a wide hallway. Now, everyone will actually have an office.Also, we’ll have enough showroom space to display some equipment inside as well as offer a good selection of Stihl products and supplies.” Bill says the expected completion date is November 15th. In the meantime, they are still operating business as usual.
Finally, our largest project- our Tuscaloosa store. This store will be getting a completely brand-new building at a different location, just a couple miles down the road from the old store. The new store will be 17,000 sq. ft. whereas the old one is just 10,000. We are especially excited about the lot size, increasing by over 5 acres. Store Manager Chris Barnette says, “The added space will allow us to stock a larger variety of equipment with space to properly showcase those items. We will also have space for the customers to test drive machines, something that is not currently possible. We are the best at what we do, and now we’ll look the best too.” The expected completion date for this store is the end of February 2020. For now, though we are still proud to serve you at our originally location, 3610 Skyland Blvd East.
