FUN FALL PROJECTS

Fall is the time of the year most everyone looks forward too. In the south, it means lower humidity and football. Fall is also the perfect time to tackle some gardening projects. Here are some fun projects to add to your to-do list this fall.

Building a compost bin can be a great addition to your garden. Fall leaves and other yard waste make some of the best composting ingredients. You can use a plastic barrel to create a compost bin, or you could build your own from scratch. However, steer clear from treated lumber, plywood, and woods that are short-lived. Once you have your compost bin, you are ready to create nutrient-rich soil for your garden.

Raking leaves can be a tedious task to undertake in the fall, but it is necessary for those with a wealth of trees in their yard. These leaves are good for much more than jumping in; fall leaves can be used for composting and mulching your soil. Mulching your soil prevents loss of nutrients during times of high moisture. To get the job done efficiently, we suggest a MulchControlkit to work alongside one of our lawn mowers to help get the job done.

Building a fire pit allows you to have the perfect spot to cuddle up during all fall and winter long. This project can be easy and requires minimal supplies. Concrete blocks, rocks, some dirt, a rake, and a shovel are normally all you need for a simple fire pit. Once you are done building, you are ready to enjoy s’mores all season long.
Fall is the perfect time to plan for spring. There is no better way to get ahead for spring than to plan it months in advance.
